Specialist
volunteer placements are for people who want to take
on more responsibility and potentially want to spend
more time in Madagascar than the general volunteers.
In order to take a specialist post, it is, of course,
a prerequisite that you have the associated skills.
It would also be preferable to have some previous experience
of Madagascar as well. On the most part specialist volunteers
are still expected to cover personal costs associated
with the work unless funding has already been allocated
for the specific project. |

| MADAGASCAR
FACTS |
Population of
Madagascar is estimated to be almost 17 million
(16,979,744). It is growing at a rate of 3.03%
per annum
This means that the population is projected to
double in 23 years. The steady increase in population
is one of the main causes of ongoing deforestation
and poverty.
